Ever heard of Slender Man?

They say he is always there. They say he is always watching. A tall guy in a suit and tie, with no face, and arms like tentacles.

Some say he is an online myth; others will go very far to prove he is real, so far that they might even kill for him.

Fanoe Island is busy with the mayoral election coming up when suddenly, the sitting mayor is found killed. Rumors tell that a faceless man dressed in a suit and tie did it.

In Emma Frost’s house that she inherited from her grandmother, a box of letters is found that tells a story from a long time ago. A terrifying story is revealing a painful chapter in the life of her own family half a century ago.

- Slender Man is a spine-chilling mystery from the bestselling author Willow Rose. It is the ninth novel in her Emma Frost-series.

I did like reading this book, nice yarn! Since this was my first book of the series, I got to know Emma Frost and her family, which I liked. What was a bit problematic for me was towards the end, the storyline seemed to speed up or maybe this was due to editing. The parent's reactions to certain paramount situations involving her teenage son was too quick to accept instead of shock and denial. It just seemed everything wrapped in a rush.
However, Ms Willow Rose is now on my list of readable authors and I will be reading more of this series.

Slenderman Emma Frost Book 9 edition by Willow Rose Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This book had a magnificent start. By the 30% stage on my , I believe I had been introduced to about 24 different people and had given up trying to tell them apart. It was then that I realized EVERYONE spoke in first person. Sometimes we were in present time with one person speaking in first person, then 50 years in the past with a different person speaking in first person. At the 50% stage of the book I finally understood that the "same woman" (to my way of translating the hopscotch layout) was actually two totally different women. By the end of the book I didn't give one royal squat what was going on, but I was aware enough to realize the ending was at the bottom of the rabbit hole and completely idiotic. I'd say more but I doubt anyone would believe what a farce this book is, and I've always considered myself a Willow Rose fan.
Excellent!!!
This is the third book of the series I have read. i started with book 7 that was a great...however, it left unanswered questions so i read the next two in the series. Each book moves the story further along and answers many questions.  The three i have read are excellent, the plot is wild and how everything ties together is engrossing. The stories are woven together in a way that is extremely interesting and keeps one turning the pages as fast as possible.  Twists upon twists!!!
This book had a decent storyline at the beginning, but I was bothered by more than a few things towards the end. The whole notion that a psychopath could run for mayor, and get away with everything she did, without anyone on a tiny island knowing about any of it, seems ridiculous at best. Second, how someone can get hit by a car, then "turn autistic" is incredibly close-minded. (I understand this was the diagnosis in 1966, but characters in 2014 said the same thing.) Just call it what it is brain damage, or traumatic brain injury. Also, the book wrapped up way too fast, and quickly glossed over what happened to the other characters. The beginning of the book was intriguing, and kept me reading; but by the end, it lost me. No more Emma Frost for me.
This book started out very interesting. I liked that the author switched between 1966 and 2014. This was the first time I have read anything by her and I bought the book simply because I'm fascinated by the Slenderman "myth."
The book started going off the rails near the end. All of a sudden it felt like a different writer had taken over, and I found I could no longer believe anything that was happening. Suddenly there's a cannibal, a mysterious doctor, sloppy writing and a sudden race by the author to wrap up the story. And by the way, I don't think a head trauma turns a person autistic or a "retard."
I doubt I will be reading any more of her books.
I wish I liked this book more. I think I'd give it about 2.5 stars, but I rounded up. There is a stylistic thing about this book that really bothered me we see chapters through the eyes of 6 characters or so. All of them are third person except the chapters involving Emma. It was only about 1/3 of the chapters, so the changing perspective was really jarring.

I've not read any other Emma Frost books and I won't. She isn't a believable character. She doesn't act like people really do. If my teenage daughter calls me to say that a classmate sent her an email saying he murdered someone for her and giving an address, I'm calling the police, not checking it out myself. And then the police didn't seem to mind that she was there tampering with their crime scene instead of calling them. Then, she goes home and pours herself a drink and then basically says "oh no! I need to cook dinner for everyone!" and then does. Like "la-dee-dah, a murdering teenager is obsessed with my daughter and slit a guy's throat and I found the body, but I really need to make a lasagna now!" Or how about when she discovers someone broke into their house in the night and killed their dog and put it in a cookpot on the stove to boil? Apparently, the thing people do is to bury the dog and not tell anyone? And then not even move your house key when you figure out that it was someone known to your family dogs? Me, I would have not touched anything and would have called the police so they could look for fingerprints or evidence or try to find the person who was obviously threatening my family.

I finished the book, but it really wasn't very good and I won't read any more of these books because they're not remotely believable. There are many better series of books in this genre, I wouldn't waste my time if I were you.
