I have this book in kindle format. I find it very interesting in that it lists an enormous amount of crime--kind of like a summary of each case. But, it does give the final disposition of each case as well as some background. You're not left hanging.
The book has over 500 typed pages and is obviously just scanned and formatted for Kindle.
But, it's not the best of scanning and while the information is easily read, it definitely has issues. A lot characters have been misread and so one has to make a educated guess at what the correct characters should be. I say, "educated," because a little logic and the correct words/phrases are easily deciphered.
I give the book only 3 stars because of the formatting issues, but also because not all of the background information in each case is provided, although enough is provided to get a good idea of what is going on.

I discovered this book while reading the Maltese Falcon. Spade is reading the subject book at his desk in the story. Kinda neat.
Might be relevant to criminal student or lawyer. A simple collection of press releases and stories - minimally edited
The description of the cases was too brief and background information was limited. It was more of a listing than an exposition, I thought.
